ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Jashwin Baijoo

Jashwin Baijoo is the Head of Strategic Engagement and Compliance.

He holds both an LLB and LLM degree, specialising in International Tax and Business Law. Jashwin has 6 years of legal experience in various aspects of South African and international law.

He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa with both practical litigation and consulting experience. He has worked in law firms focusing on dealing with litigation and commercial disputes.

Jashwin moved from the pure practice of law to the consulting industry and has entrenched himself within tax law, specifically dealing with the elements of cross-border taxation, corporate incorporations and compliance, and international regulatory applications.

Yolisa Dyasi

Yolisa Dyasi is a Tax Technical Consultant at the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT).

Her experience in the tax landscape spans over 5 years, which she has acquired from the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and the Office of the Tax Ombud, where she specialised in tax administration and SARS operations.

Yolisa is a General Tax Practitioner (SA)TM registered with SAIT and holds a B.com (Honours) degree in Taxation from the University of Johannesburg.

She is instrumental in providing tax technical guidance and administrative support to tax practitioners with a view to improving their SARS compliance and the service offerings to their clients.

Notably, she engages with SARS in critical matters surrounding taxpayer and tax practitioner rights through the drafting of tax technical submissions, SARS regional meeting representation, and SARS case escalations. Additionally, she manages the SAIT TaxHelpline, an exclusive service for tax practitioners to assist them in running their practices.
